Join Stand for Marriage Maine
For the Delivery of People’s Veto Petition Signatures to the Secretary of State!

Please join us in Augusta on Friday, July 31 in celebrating and honoring the hard work and dedication of our volunteer circulators and every Mainer who signed the petition to restore traditional marriage. We look forward to sharing this exciting event with you. We have collected an outstanding number of signatures thanks to everyone’s efforts. We are confident the work of these volunteers and signers will make it possible for the people of Maine, not politicians, to have the final say on the “same-sex marriage” law, and to vote on this important issue on Election Day, November 3, 2009.

The Stand for Marriage Maine truck will deliver the petition signatures to the Secretary of State’s office between 10:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31. You can take part in this event and be a part of history by being at the south entrance of the Burton Cross State Office Building – the newer gray building behind the State House, before the truck arrives. The south entrance is on the ground floor facing the Maine State Museum.

We look forward to seeing you there, and thank you again for your help in getting this issue on the ballot!

If you have any question, please call Mary Conroy at campaign headquarters, toll free at (877) 702-7466.

Help Needed

Stand for Marriage Maine (SFMM), a coalition of religious organizations and concerned citizens seeking to overturn Maine’s recently passed gay marriage law, is seeking volunteer leaders to become District Captains in various small regions of the state. Our Captains will manage grassroots activity in their region, including door-to-door activity, phone banking, yard sign distribution, holding events, and other activities.

Our grassroots team will be the critical element of our campaign to restore traditional marriage to Maine, and our District Captains are the backbone of the grassroots campaign.

We will provide training and all the materials you need. We will help you recruit a network of local volunteers in your region. But we need local leaders like you to tie it all together.

District Captains will work closely with SFMM staff to win this historic campaign. And the need could not be more critical. Radical homosexual activists from around the country are already descending on Maine to make this the next battleground in their fight to redefine marriage for all of us. And if the experience in other states is any guide, if they succeed, we can expect to see the religious liberties of those who oppose gay marriage threatened, we will see business owners and professionals who object to gay marriage threatened, and most dangerously, we will see them attempt to indoctrinate our children in the public schools that gay marriage is the same as traditional marriage.

We can’t allow this to happen. We need your help. We need volunteer leaders to help us win this campaign. Can you help? Will you help?

If you are interested in volunteering for this effort or would like more information regarding this important position on the campaign, please contact Ryan Harnden at: ryan [at] standformarriagemaine.com as soon as possible. Thanks so much for your support in this important cause.
