Sarah Palin is in the populist tradition of Andrew Jackson, Williams Jennings Bryan, and Ronald Reagan. They all believe in the virtue and liberty of individuals rather than trusting the elites to rule us wisely.
These populists also bear a strong resemblance to President Abraham Lincoln, who sought to free all men to pursue their dreams and to achieve good things. He also was ridiculed by many of the “elite” of his day.
