Christian Citizenship #1

From time to time lets consider the Lord’s Word and its applications to our citizenship.

Ezekiel 2 is a challenging and encouraging chapter for citizens and for witnesses. In verses 1 and 2, the Lord tells his prophet Ezekiel to stand up and to listen; Ezekiel had fallen face down upon seeing the Lord in His bright glory. As the Lord issues the command He also sends His Spirit to stand up the prophet and to enable him to listen.

Likewise, you and I should fall on the ground in awe of the Almighty, and then welcome and receive His Spirit to stand us up and to give us ears to hear the Lord’s message. We can not know the Lord or know His will and His wisdom unless we have His powerful help and hear His message to us. Only then can we have something true and timely to say about our politics in Maine, and the wisdom to pray rightly also.

Later we will consider more applications from Ezekiel 2.
