Christian Citizenship 2009.11.27
Back now to Ezekiel 2, as we from time to time consider the Lord’s Word and its applications to our citizenship.
God sent Ezekiel “to Israel and to the rebellious nations who have rebelled against Me.” God described them further as “obstinate and hard-hearted”. And the Lord tells Ezekiel, “you must say to them, ‘This is what the Lord God says’.”
How does this apply to us? God is sending us to rebellious people [and remember that all nations - and all people, including myself and you, dear reader- are rebellious- this is not a unique to Maine and the USA]. So, I should expect the rebelliousness of people and not be shocked by this, at least not shocked into silence and inaction, or fearful retreat and despair. God is in control!
Secondly, God is sending us to tell everyone His message, relaying His Word to everyone. Just as the Christian citizen needs to hear and obey God’s Word, so do all people in Maine and the USA, and beyond. This includes clearly acknowledging that the Biblical wisdom and commands that I share are from the Lord God.
More to come. What do you think about this?
