The predictability of American generosity

Gary Bauer comments on US response to Haiti crisis:

“The predictability of American generosity rests in large part on the influence of our Judeo-Christian heritage and what it teaches us about compassion. This is the same heritage that is regularly under attack by American elites. The material resources we have are largely the fruit of democratic capitalism. This is the same economic system that some in Washington, D.C., would replace with the dead hand of socialism…only the U.S. has both the moral impulse and the resources to act quickly in the face of disaster.”

Mr. Bauer mentions, “some in Washington, D.C., would replace [democratic capitalism] with the dead hand of socialism”.  Actually, MANY in Washington, including Pres. O-ppressor and most of the Democrats in Congress.
