Efficiency or Liberty, that is my question

Dear Candidates for Maine’s governor:

Thank you for offering yourselves as candidates for Governor.

Some of you, even most of you, state something to this effect, “As Governor, I will seek efficiencies, apply sound business principles, and reduce state spending and taxes without reducing government services.”

In Maine’s state government and budget, I want to see programs and services cut and reduced in major ways.  Maine government is just too big and efficiency is not good when it promotes big government, because big government means less freedom.  Efficient tyranny is still tyranny.  We need liberation from our much too big government.

We are regarding our government as our ultimate provider and protector.  That is not the role assigned to government by our Creator. He, God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, is our only Provider and Protector.

Will you as governor promise to increase Liberty and reduce Tyranny in Maine by shrinking the government, canceling programs, closing agencies, and repealing bad laws and regulations?
