A message to Sens. Snowe & Collins today
Here at MaineChristian.com Politics, I am an equal opportunity critic of our Maine members of Congress.
Today I wrote to Republican Senators Snowe and Collins because they voted against an amendment to allow the people of Washington D.C. to vote on the homosexual marriage law imposed on them by political elites. They were the only two Republicans senators to oppose this bill.
Here is my message to them. Please consider sending them your message protesting this bad vote.
This week, Sen. Bob Bennett (R-Utah) introduced an amendment asking his colleagues to intervene in the District of Columbia’s same-sex “marriage” law. However, Senate Democrats and Republican Senators Susan Collins (Maine) and Olympia Snowe (Maine), refused even to consider allowing the citizens of D.C. to vote on homosexual marriage law, despite its blatant attack on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). To be clear, this wasn’t a vote on D.C. marriage–it was simply Sen. Bennett’s request for the people of D.C. to vote. Even that was denied!
WHY ARE MAINE REPUBLICAN SENATORS PREVENTING THE CITIZENS OF WASHINGTON D.C. HAVING THE RIGHT TO VOTE ON THIS MATTER AS DID THE CITIZENS OF MAINE!! This was shameful vote by Senators Snowe and Collins.
