Mr. Gary Bauer of Campaign for Working Families sends a good one page newsletter every weekday by email. Each of us needs this kind of well-founded news and commentary. Monday’s edition is a good example.
First, Bauer asks, “Who’s Leading The Free World?” Here is part of his answer:
Sadly, the current White House occupant doesn’t seem interested in continuing that tradition [of leading the free world]. In fact, it isn’t clear that he even embraces the idea that the “free world” is a morally superior entity. In short, the position of “leader of the free world” appears to be vacant until November 2012.

Second, Bauer summarizes a “secret” Memo: Gates To White House: “You’re Clueless!” A partial quote:
It’s worth remembering that Gates is a Bush holdover, a Republican in a liberal Democrat administration. While those surrounding him at cabinet meetings may feel compelled to apologize for America, Gates may well be the only voice of reason in a cacophony of anti-Americanism. In fact, the Times quotes officials as suggesting that Gates’ memo should be read as “a warning to a relatively new president that the United States was not adequately prepared.”
Third, Bauer reveals the bad news from New York’s health care “reform”, emphasis added to excerpt:
According to the Times, “New York’s insurance system has been a working laboratory for the core provision of the new federal health care law.” In other words, ObamaCare is largely modeled after the disaster in New York! And it’s coming to your state and community by 2014 unless conservatives make major gains in the elections 197 days from now.
Gary Bauer closes with this Bad News For Democrats, [and good news for patriots] excerpt:
It’s hard to trust someone or something that blatantly ignores you and does the exact opposite of what you want, which is precisely what the Democrats did in passing ObamaCare. So, it’s not surprising to me that a new Pew Research Center poll finds that nearly 80% of Americans do not trust Big Government. Pew summarized the poll’s results by stating, “Rather than an activist government to deal with the nation’s top problems, the public now wants government reformed and growing numbers want its power curtailed.” This must come as a shock to Obama, Reid and Pelosi.
