The GOP governor’s primary is NOT our last or best hope!
I do have one quibble with Mr. Pajak’s statement quoted in the prior post about homosexual marriage, to wit: The GOP primary is NOT our “only defense against the eventuality of the next attack on marriage in Maine.” Several other defenses exist.
1. The people of Maine through the people’s veto system, as was just proven in 2009.
2. The election of pro-morality, pro-life, pro-marriage and pro-family legislators is important, no matter who is elected as governor. This includes the defeat of many Republicans and Democrats who supported homosexual marriage and also refused to send the bill out to a referendum.
3. Last mentioned, but first in importance: God Himself has triumphed over all evil through the Good News of Christ’s atonement for our sins. He will consummate His victory at the end of the age, and will give His people many protections and many victories in the interim, as He has done many times before. “Be at peace, I, Jesus, have overcome the world.”
